Come and join us on journey to Haiti on the 31st of May at Hoxton Arches Gallery.

Bokantaj is a collaborative project that engages a range of themes that challenge mainstream understanding of art & culture from Africa and its Diaspora and how it manifests itself in contemporary societies of the globe.

Living and growing up in the UK, the typical encounter with Caribbean culture tends to be focused on the English speaking Caribbean. French speaking Caribbean culture by comparison tends to be muted.

We will focus on Haiti a country often portrayed, through the gaze of poverty, disaster, and ‘vodoo’.
Explore new facets of Haiti through art, music and dance.
