Silence-London is a new performing arts event organised on August 8th in east London. Event takes
place in two locations in the lively Hoxton area; in a gallery and in a secret garden.
It is an imaginative mix of the top contemporary circus and dance, classical music and new
unexpected combinations and collaborations between highly regarded international artists. With its
roots in Lapland, this unique event offers an accessible oasis for arts and encounters of all forms,
located in the most active urban environment – Silence-London! The main organiser of this event is
internationally acclaimed circus artist Sakari Männistö.
Silence-London is a sibling of the annual Silence Festival organised in the small Kaukonen village
in Kittilä, Finnish Lapland, since 2010. Silence-Festival was awarded with the Finnish States Arts
Prize 2017 and it is a performing arts festival and an interdisciplinary platform for creation,
